Case Study 

A major hotel chain based in the US came to Erwyn with a hotel sourcing issue. They were interested in developing a custom compendium holder for one of their bands that would hold in-room literature, menu card, marketing materials etc. They had a good idea of the style they wanted and provided artwork. They needed help determining what material to use to manufacture the item in order to offer the best combination of appearance, durability and cost. Erwyn, having extensive sourcing and manufacturing capability quoted the item in the several different materials they requested including Stainless Steel, Wood, and Natural Stone. Erwyn’s design team suggested and quoted the compendium in a couple additional materials as well knowing the advantages those materials have over of the other materials in terms of weight, strength, finish flexibility and most importantly, cost.

After a paring down of vendors originally sent the RFQ, Erwyn was asked to supply samples. During the sampling process we realized that the item as designed would not hold the materials it was intended to house properly, so Erwyn made design changes to address the issue.
In the end, the customer chose Erwyn because the sample we submitted in one of the materials we suggested was the perfect weight to hold the literature without being too heavy, we achieved the finish they were looking for, the compendium sample housed the items so they rested properly and our version was much more competitively priced than those submitted by our competition as a result of the material used.

Final agreements were signed and Erwyn began to fulfill the program globally. The program has since been expanded to include additional brands.
